INTENT:
Create a simple, modern Japanese home with warm, earthy embrace. Imposing certain Scandinavian philosophies into the concept, to bring out the intended look.
APPROACH:
Use of light-coloured wall finishes and timber strips. The lights are then further enhancing the material's texture, highlighting the features in the common area. These bring attention and interest towards the main features of each area.
Features
The low shoe cabinet situated in front of the entrance is placed with a partial divider to avoid guests from directly viewing the living hall, yet giving a glimpse of what it is to come, creating interest in the shoe cabinet as part of the feature itself.
The dividers serve as an open display and also its functionality by placing the essentials (keys, newspaper etc.). The ledge of the dividers follows into the TV wall feature, use of stone-look wall
tiles balance out the warmth from the timber to give more earthy tones.

The ceiling feature which run from the dining area to the bar counter, accenting both areas as one . This ceiling design also works in harmony with the TV wall, the juxtaposition of the stone and wood appearances.
